PROGRAM OVERVIEW

In India, Money, Money Management, and Money Matters have been taboo subjects. People in India have a defensive ring around the concept of money, so much that talking about money with even our family members causes extreme discomfort.

Parents don't like having conversations with their children about money. They feel that it is a highly complicated topic and at this age, children should worry about their studies more than money. Since, anyway, the children will have to deal with matters related to money once they grow up. But our question to parents is, If children are never taught about money, never had conversations about money, and never even dealt with even small amounts of money, How will they be able to do so once they grow up and have to manage large amounts of money all at once? Because of the lack of discussions about money, and no formal financial education, Indians live with this strange relationship with money, where confusions, lousy decision-making, and financial blunders are inevitable.

We can avoid all of this if we provide our children with a formal financial education about money at a young age. The Money Matters aims to step up to the challenge and fill the need for a money-related program that teaches children from 8 to 16 about foundation concepts like Needs & Desires, Saving, and Loans to advanced topics like Budgeting, Entrepreneurship, and Planning for Future Money Needs.
